Fatigue is a very common yet distressing symptom in cancer patients. It is not only physical, but mental and emotional. Sleep does not alleviate this symptom and even daily activities can be restricted due to fatigue. People undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy will experience fatigue the most at this time, but for many this fatigue can last for years post treatment.
Exercise is still one of the best things a person can do for cancer-related fatigue. Survivors are encouraged to exercise for 150 minutes/week or for 30 minutes five days a week.
